Following the Human-Centered Design approach, Design Thinking puts human needs first. In order to develop empathy for the people who interact with a product or service, you collect a large amount of information during the research phase. There are different ways to collect that information: observing processes or conducting systematic desktop research, market analyses, studies, observing technological trends. In order to get a 360° view of the problem, we recommend a combination of different methods. An especially useful tool in Design Thinking is the qualitative interview, because you should talk directly to your target group instead of simply relying on assumptions (Don’t assume – ask!).
